YOUR OPHTHALMOLOGY CAREER

BACK OFFICE

Based on your responses, we think you’re a great fit for one of our back-office roles! Some examples of our back office roles include:

Ophthalmic Tech

Ophthalmic Tech (Medical Practice)

The ophthalmic scribe/tech is a very important position because they’re the physician’s right hand and assist them throughout exams and procedures. They’re the ones who are there for patients when they’re nervous about their appointment, so a good bedside manner is key.

The goal of our ophthalmic scribes/techs is to increase the efficiency and productivity of our ophthalmologists by thoroughly documenting patient information throughout the exams and procedures, communicating care information to patients and their loved ones, and more.

Scrub Tech

Scrub Tech (Ambulatory Surgery Center)

Scrub techs at ambulatory surgery centers assist with preparing, monitoring, and transporting patients throughout surgery. They are also integral to stocking, replenishing, and preparing supplies for surgical procedures.
Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse (Ambulatory Surgery Center)

Registered nurses at ambulatory surgery centers assist with patient care, such as preparing patients for surgery, monitoring vital signs, and evaluating patient recovery from anesthesia. Customer/patient services skills are important because our nurses communicate with patients, families, teammates, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
Optician

Optician (Medical Practice)

Our opticians help patients with the selection and purchase of eyewear and adjusting and dispensing eyewear once completed. They also complete all necessary paperwork for sales and patient activity documentation and ensure proper documentation of optical records.

FAQS

What will my work schedule look like?

Work schedules depend on the type of role and if you work at a medical practice or ambulatory surgery center. Our business unit leaders work with each employee to make sure their schedule works for their personal life while fulfilling the needs of the business.

Generally, our ophthalmology practices are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours at our ambulatory surgery centers depend on the unique needs of that particular business unit. For example, there may be a surgery scheduled for 7 a.m. that will require the team to arrive early.
