We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Ophthalmic Technician Lead to join our growing team. As a technician in our state-of-the-art practice, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical environment.
About Us: We are a premier ophthalmology medical practice committed to providing comprehensive vision care to our community. Our popular services include cataract surgery and diabetic eye care. We treat a wide range of vision concerns, from glaucoma to corneal disease.
This is a Monday - Friday day shift position with No Weekend and No Holidays!
Responsibilities:
- Management and supervision of Ophthalmic Technician staff.
- Management of Technician staff work schedules, time clock entries, and PTO requests.
- Equipment vendor management and equipment calibration.
- Inventory and supplies ordering and oversight.
- Conduct patient interviews and document patient histories accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure patient charts are updated and accurate, including identifying/verifying the patient's chief complaint.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and ocular medications.
- Perform various diagnostic tests, including; Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers, Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, and Refracting.
- Proficient with EMR computer programs.
- Gain experience in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The successful candidate will have experience with
- Refractions (manual preferred)
- Checking vision
- Tonometry/IOP
- Various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visual Field Testing)
- Obtaining vital patient medical history

Requirements
To be considered, you'll need to:
- 5+ years of Ophthalmology experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- COA Certification preferred
- Demonstrated working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and ocular medications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and grow.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
