Medical Ophthalmic Technician

At West County Ophthalmology, we are looking for an Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing team! Ideally, you will have at least 2-3 years of experience as a technician in a successful ophthalmology practice and having your certification is a big plus! Our team works very closely together, so ability to work well with others, eagerness to learn and a focus on patient care is key. We strive for taking care of our patients and we want someone with the same passion for patient care.

This is a Monday - Friday, Day Shift position... No Weekends and No Holidays!

Responsibilities:

• Experienced in a fast-paced clinic environment.
• Efficient and accurate at interviewing patients and documenting histories.
• Able to ensure charts are updated and accurate.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease and ocular medications.
• Experienced with HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers,
• Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, and Refracting.
• Proficient with EMR computer programs.

• Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
• Strong hospitality skills and patient care focus
• Knowledge on Refractions
• checking vision, identifying chief complaint
• IOP
• various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visuals)
