Description
At Mid America Eye Center in Prairie Village, Kansas, we are all about providing exceptional Vision care to our community. To ensure we succeed with our goals, our Ophthalmology practice has an immediate opening for a Medical Ophthalmic Technician. The ideal candidate will have previous Ophthalmic Technician experience and certification is a big plus! Occasional travel may be required to assist our sister locations at Butler MO, Nevada MO, and Lawrence KS.
Responsibilities:
- Must be efficient and accurate in interviewing patients and recording medical histories.
- Able to ensure charts are updated and accurate.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, and ocular medications.
- Have experience with HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers,
- Able to process Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, and Refracting.
- Proficient with EMR computer programs.
- Refractions
- checking vision, identifying chief complaint
- IOP
- various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visuals)

Requirements
To be considered, you'll need to:
- Candidate must have prior Ophthalmic Technician experience
- Strong hospitality and patient care experience
- Strong communication skills
- Computer knowledge
- Ophthalmic Certification is a plus!
