Description

We are looking for an Ophthalmic Technician/Scheduler to join our growing team! Ideally, you will have at least 2-3 years of experience as a technician in a successful ophthalmology practice and having your certification is a big plus! Our team works very closely together, so ability to work well with others, eagerness to learn and a focus on patient care is key. This position will be dynamic and flexible, perfect for someone who likes to participate in various tasks throughout the day and dislikes monotony.  

Schedule: Monday-Friday. NO WEEKENDS!

Responsibilities:

  • Experienced in a fast-paced clinic environment.
  • Efficient and accurate at interviewing patients and documenting histories.
  • Able to ensure charts are updated and accurate.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease and ocular medications.
  • Experienced with HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers,
  • Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, and Refracting.
  • Proficient with EMR computer programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years in a similar position for an ophthalmologist or optometrist 
  • Refractions
  • checking vision, identifying chief complaint
  • IOP
  • various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visuals) 
  • Current COA or greater certification is a plus. Ophthalmic experience with a focus on cataract surgery is preferred.
  • Proficiency in BAT glare testing, A-scans, refraction techniques, eyedrop instillation, and obtaining pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, particularly the elderly.
  • Experience in surgical scheduling and patient counseling is highly desirable but can be taught.
