Description

At Physicians Surgery Center we are seeking a Surgical Scrub Technician to join our dynamic team and help us to continue to service our patience with exceptional care. The ideal candidate preferably would have Cataract and retinal surgical technician experience. Sterile Scrub Technique is required. Must be able to assist in nursing care preparation of surgical patient by performance of routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the Surgical Facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs scrub duties and related procedures.
  • Performs housekeeping duties and related procedures.
  • Aids in emergency procedures as well as elective and scheduled cases.
  • Assists with preparation, transportation and monitoring of patients.
  • Ensure maximum caution requirements when administering care to patient.
  • Maintains education in surgical, operating room and related aspects of nursing care.
  • Assists with stocking, replenishing and preparation of supplies.
  • Report any adverse incidents to the administrator.
  • The ability to execute maximum care and caution, when handling surgical equipment and instruments.
  • Responsible for conservation and control of supplies utilized on unit and maintenance of equipment.

Requirements:

  • Able to stand and/or walk a considerable amount of duty time.
  • Able to push, pull, lift and position light to heavy equipment and patients.
  • Works in well lighted and ventilated area with complicated equipment, some of which are hazardous in nature. Exposed to patients' blood and other body fluids.
  • Successful completion of operating room technician course preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of surgical procedures needs and steps in use of materials.
  • Basic knowledge of safety precautions including understanding Universal Precautions.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, microbiology, sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques and maintenance and care of equipment.
